Hi all,
I finally published the Stickmethod book I wrote & used on the German Seminar in 2002 and parts of it on other seminars . I also added the excercises as mp3s. It's available as an E-book (PDFs & embedded MP3s) on a CDr plus an audio CD as an option.

Check it out in my Catalog/Webshop Galaxy Gypsy under "Instruction".

  • For now it's only for 10/12 Stick in classic/tuning. Other tunings will follow later.
  • For the ones who went to this 2002 European Stick Seminar in Germany and have got most of this book already it might be interesting to just order the E-book CDrom. On it you'll find the entire book in PDF & embedded MP3s.
  • I have plenty more lessons which I'm in the process of editing the coming months. So be prepared for more shameless plugging of my material:)

    in an interview on stick.com:

"Ron's booklet is perhaps the most organized thing I've seen handed out at a Stick seminar. It's a whole bunch of single page exercises. Some are two hands on the left side, chords, basic octave things, a variety of technique type exercises where the fingerings are really important. That was really helpful"

(Jim teaches Music Theory and Audio Engineering courses at the Pacific AudioVisual Institute in Vancouver, BC. He also organizes Stickseminars In BC and has attended many seminars all over the world)

"I got Ron's book at the last Dutch mini seminar in April 2007 that Ron organized. Very nice. A bunch of exercises, I just looked at the beginning and it is an excellent for motors (a technique where Ron really excels). Definitely recommended."

  • Devin Boom (Holland):

    Dear Ron,
As a professional educator, I definitely appreciate the active and dynamic approach your method book takes. I have been working my way through a variety of instructional Stick books. I enjoy the content and the information these offer, but most of them provide a very heavy theoretical approach to Stick playing. I certainly realize the ultimate benefit in this, but your approach actually allows me to begin "playing" the Stick and moving my fingers in an intelligent, meaningful, and "musical" way right from the start.

    Thanks
